👥Aline shares her experience of church life
It was 2006 when I first came to St Petroc’s Church. My husband had died, and during that difficult time, a church member, Joan Butler, gently encouraged me to come along. She spoke so warmly about how friendly the church was, and I decided to give it a try.
From that very first visit, I was made to feel welcome. What could have been a daunting step turned into the beginning of something very important in my life. The kindness of others and the sense of community I found at St Petroc’s helped me through a time of loss and change.
Over the years, the church has become much more than just a place I attend—it has become a place of friendship, support, and belonging. Through services, events, and the simple act of sharing time with others, I have built connections that mean a great deal to me.
Weekly Sunday worship and prayers have helped develop my faith and singing the hymns is something I love.
Looking back, I am so grateful to Joan for that invitation. Sometimes it only takes a few kind words to open a door, and for me, that door led to a community that has been there ever since.
