An early statement about who Jesus is

The Bible Study Group in delving into Philippians with Claire. Chapter 2 and verses 6-11 gives us a clear picture of how we are to understand Jesus. Claire demonstrated it for us in picture form.

Jesus was with God from the beginning. He came to earth as a man and lived and died. He died to be the way of salvation. God raised him from the dead and exalted him. The Church on earth, who worships him now, will one day be the Church who exalts Jesus forever, in God' presence. We shared how it reminded us of worship songs the Sunday Celebration Band has been singing at the 11am service and hymns some of us sang at school "At the name of Jesus."

The rest of the chapter gives the impact of Jesus' story in our lives and in our relationships with others in the form of instructions and excellent role models.
