No knitting but lots of talking

We spent a wonderful afternoon sharing news and stories at the weekly Crochet & Knitting Friendship Group Zoom meeting. Two topics naturally arose - holidays and birds.

Brenda and Julia would have been enjoying the views on their holiday in Lake Garda, Ann would have been on the Norfolk Broads and Barbara would have been in Porto, if Coronavirus hadn’t prevented it. We all hope to go on our holidays when the situation allows it!

Mike has been enjoying walks around the local area and took photos of foxgloves, which are in abundance at the moment, but Mike managed to find a rare white foxglove – well spotted Mike. What a great photo of a cuckoo at Temple Downs also taken by Mike!

Julia told us about the “dozy” blackbird in her garden and two baby rooks. Barbara spotted a tiny fledgling, possibly a blue tit, on a local walk, spied a heron a few weeks ago on a roof and spotted birds of prey on the look out for their next meal.

We mentioned Bodmin Way’s new Newsletter that is available on line and is now also available on a dial-in service for those who have a telephone but don’t have the Internet. You simply ring 01208 628013 and select your choice of hearing a welcome and update, Sunday’s sermon & prayers, a daily reflection and talking newsletter. Those who have read the June edition spoke very highly of it, as a good newsletter for the whole community as well as the church and that it was well worth looking at.

We are planning to meet again next Thursday and 2.30pm.

To join us via telephone or Internet, please contact info@bodminway.org.
