Archie Illustrates a Bible Text

We welcomed Archie to Sunday Celebration today.

He was perfect and enabled Claire to illustrate a Bible principle.

William read from 1 Timothy 4:8 ,

For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.”

We shared ideas about why we train a dog: cleanliness (no mess!), good manners/behaviour and safety. In the Christian faith we aim to train ourselves in godliness - the be more like Jesus - which not only benefits us now but also for eternity. Regular personal Bible reading and study with others, prayer, praise, worship, meeting with other Christians all help us in our training to be more 'godlike'. Again, we look at the example of Jesus and ask to be more like him, in our thinking, dealing with others and our actions.
