SPY Welcomes Eddie

Updated: Jan 9

Eddie Howlett, youth worker and Cornwall’s SU rep, came along to a SPY event on Sunday 7 January.

To get to know him a bit better two SPY members interviewed him.

Eddie is super at sports. He will lead a SPY Sporting Special ‘Created To Play’ on Sunday 17 March, 3pm to 5pm, in St. Petroc’s Parish Centre, next to Priory Park. Young people aged nine and above are invited to this special and free event.

To give a taster of what to expect during the SPY Sporting Special in March, Eddie led the young people in two activities, one quiet and the other full of running and goal scoring.

It led to a discussion of what makes a good team, for example, talking to and supporting one another. Eddie linked this to a Christian’s faith.

Before the games the group was invited to take part in a youth service in St. Petroc’s Church on Sunday 14 April. Anyone can contribute as much or as little as they’d like to, or simply observe, whether they go to church regularly or not. The theme is PEACE, LIGHT AND REPENTANCE. The group will get to grips with this at the next SPY event on Sunday 25 February, 3pm to 4.30pm, in St. Petroc’s Parish Centre.

In between Eddie’s games, everyone chatted over cookies and milkshake.
