Community gathers and shares at harvesttime

Table upon table, heavy-laden with food, greeted the congregation on Sunday 9th October.

This enormous amount of food was generously donated by the whole St. Petroc’s School community. Headteacher Mr Perfect with Mr Edney led a harvest festival for Years 5 and 6 in church last Wednesday where prayers and blessings were said by Rev'd Elaine Munday. Harvest celebrations were held at the school for the other year groups.

The congregation at St. Petroc’s Church added to the food items at their harvest festival.

A large sack of broccoli, a gift from Gleaners, was on display, as was a beautifully crafted harvest sheaf, another kind donation.

All food items will be displayed at “Outgate” on tables outside the home of Rev’d Elaine and Joseph to support anyone at this financially difficult time.

Creative and colourful pumpkins, crocheted especially for the church’s harvest celebrations by students at the Journey Centre, Bodmin College, were part of the church’s harvest décor, which included a large harvest sheaf made from material and kindly given by Anna Martin.
