There was a tangible sense of optimism in the air as residents, community groups, and local partners gathered at St Petroc’s Church for an important town meeting.

Held on Tuesday 31 March 2026, the event marked the official launch of the council’s new aims and objectives—setting out a clear vision for what will be delivered in Bodmin over the next four years.

The meeting brought together a wide range of voices from across the community.

Attendees heard about upcoming plans and projects designed to strengthen the town, support local organisations, and create new opportunities for residents and businesses alike.

It was not just about sharing information, but about building a shared sense of direction for Bodmin’s future.

Events like this demonstrate the power of bringing people together in meaningful spaces.

With clear goals now set and a renewed sense of momentum, Bodmin is looking ahead with confidence.

More news for Bodmin

Cornwall Council has launched a campaign titled “More To Bodmin.”

The initiative aims to showcase everything the town has to offer, supported by a collection of promotional resources designed to raise Bodmin’s profile and attract visitors and investment.

One particularly positive highlight is the strong presence of St Petroc’s Church within the campaign materials which reflects its importance not just as a historic landmark, but as a central part of the town’s identity and community life.

St Petroc’s Church featured prominently in the “More to Bodmin” campaign through “Experience Bodmin”. The church played an integral role as a partner in developing the brand. Revd Simon Atkinson participated in several meetings over the last nine months, helping to shape both the campaign and its identity.

Following the collaborative work, the church was successful in securing funding from “Experience Bodmin” to deliver a Heritage Day event held in St Petroc’s Church.
