Look Up!
SPY’s August youth event is all about looking up!
How often do we look up when walking through town? Could we identify the location of features along Bodmin’s skyline? Three SPY teams took the ‘Look Up’ challenge. It was tough, but the teams persevered and found all ten answers!
“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” Each person was given one word of the first part of the text to remember and say out loud.
Another text about looking up is: “I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord.” We all can look to God to thank him and ask for help, for example, the direction our lives should take and understand what life’s purpose is. God wants us to look to him. This is expressed symbolically as looking up, in other words, know God.
Smiley biscuits and squash completed the afternoon search.
Join SPY next month, 3 September, when we will be expressing song through mime on the theme of ‘Peace’ and what we can do to spread it.
