Sunday Celebration - Family
Last week we reflected on bodies and that we are the body of Christ.
This week we looked at family and that we are the family of God.
One day ... "while Jesus was speaking to the people, his mother and his brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him. Jesus replied, "Who is my mother and who are my brothers?" And stretching out his hand towards his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.""
We 'signed a song' instead of singing it - 'Big Family of God' - we are all different but God loves everyone he has made and loves each of us in a special way - including YOU!
We thanked God for families and asked God to support those in our families who are unwell. This short time of prayer was followed by more signing, as we said the Lords' Prayer together.
Claire provided 'family cut outs' for us to take home, cut and decorate as well as a packet of Love Hearts. Thanks Claire.
Next Sunday (30 August) we will reflect on school and pray for the new term.
The Sunday after (6 September) we will take Sunday Celebration outdoors, to walk part of "Bodmin's Well Trail' (less than a mile) and have a picnic lunch either in Priory Park or in the upper hall of the Parish Centre (bring your lunch + blanket + coats and umbrellas!)
