Too Tight To Mention!

It might be, but we talked about MONEY this morning at Sunday Celebration.

We listened to the 1982 single "Money's too tight to mention" about one man's struggle to keep things going financially. Rev Elaine then read a Bible story from Luke 16 "The Rich Man and Lazarus" whilst William acted out all the parts! It made it memorable, that's for sure.

We divided up into table groups to give our responses to the Bible reading. We were given resources to help us think what God might want us to do with our money. One Bible verse given is from Proverbs 14:31 "Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honours God." Some teams produced a mind map, others a picture and another a prayer. One group said a good response to the poor would be to give our money to charities that help the needy e.g. the Salvation Army and also to give food to a Foodbank.

Before we prayed, we were encouraged to avoid the blame culture and to be part of God's work to help those in need.
